As a PCI ® Certified Parent Coach and professional educator, Georgia DeClark has over 30 years of experience working with children and supporting their parents through the challenges and joys of their lives. As a mother of three grown children, she also has a deep understanding of the demands, struggles and rewards that come from day-to-day parenting and how those challenges evolve over time as our children grow and move toward becoming their true selves.
 
Georgia DeClark began her career as a first grade teacher after earning a B.S. degree in Elementary Education, graduating with dual teaching certificates in elementary and early childhood education. She also earned a M.S. degree in Educational Leadership. After conducting two years of research in her first grade classroom, Georgia co-authored an internationally recognized book on the construction of children’s mathematical knowledge.  After a brief hiatus to raise her young children, she returned to the classroom to teach 4 year-olds and kindergarten children in a private preschool, where, after 27 years, she continues as a teacher and Director of Student and Family Services, supporting the importance of play.

After years of conducting parenting classes and facilitating workshops, Georgia’s passion for partnering with parents led her to obtain her PCI Parent Coach Certification ®. She has subsequently become a student of, and taken extensive classes from, Dr. Shefali Tsabary, New York Times best-selling author and Oprah’s go-to parenting resource. Her coaching work focuses on empowering parents to create authentic connections with their children and bring harmony to their families.

Georgia has given numerous presentations and workshops on a wide of variety of parenting and early childhood topics.  She has presented her research at a NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children) conference and has served as adjunct faculty at Erikson Institute in Chicago.
